Low ‘T’

Low T – the buzz word today of having low testosterone is  becoming quite an epidemic.  Many of my male patients are frustrated with low energy levels, poor focus, mood changes, weight gain, little desire for sex and even suffer with erectile dysfunction.  After blood work, there is evidence of very low testosterone.  They cannot understand how this happened to them, and what their options are to correct this problem. Sad to say…..most of them are 30 years old or younger! In the health care profession, we are noting a trend that on average, a young man in his 20’s and 30’s have a testosterone level lower than their grandfathers!! There are many reasons this could be happening.   Our environment is definitely not like it was in grandpa’s day!  Just having a little more understanding of the exposures out there that is destroying your bodies ability to maintain its balance in testosterone will help you move forward in fixing the problem. Dr. David Friedman talks of several exposures in a mans daily life that puts him at risk for low testosterone. “During the past decade, while men’s T levels have rapidly been declining, there’s been a proportionate increase in the use of laptop computers. ”  “In January 2012, the journal Fertility and Sterility published a study showing that men who have been exposed to a wireless internet-connected laptop showed a significant decrease in sperm motility and decreased fertility.  The solution?  Men should never put their laptop on their lap unless there’s a 12-inch cushion under the notebook, as this is about how far the EMF field transfers.  EMF shields are also available to put under laptops, which protects the body from these dangerous frequencies.” http://www.doctordavidfriedman.com/low-testosterone-could-your-cell-phone-or-laptop-be-to-blame/ Going on Testosterone replacement therapy in a man age 50 or younger, is not the best or safest option.  TRT – (testosterone replacement therapy) could place you at risk for heart attacks, strokes, and cancers later on in life. Come in and see me to discuss the best and safest option of treatment for you.  ...
