The Affects of MTHFR on your Health
Do you suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar, fatigue, or insomnia? You may be suffering from a gene mutation known as MTHFR. In my functional medicine practice, I am seeing quite a few patients that are having a difficult time with Methylation.
Methylation is a process in which every one of our cells are allowed to do something for us. In order for Methylation to occur, there are certain genes that go and turn special enzymes on that changes certain vitamins into active helpers. Folic acid, B6, and B12 are these very special helpers. Each one of our cells go through this Methylation process 500,000 to a million times a day – just one of our cells!! Incredible right? What is not so incredible, is that daily exposures to toxins and chemicals cause our genes to mutate – stopping this Methylation process.
There are many symptoms one may experience if Methylation does not occur such as fatigue, depression, anxiety, Bi- Polar disease, Schizophrenia, and many more. I have specific tests in which to identify this mutated gene (MTHFR) along with individualized protocols that allows you to begin a correct Methylation process once again.
I would love to help you understand this very common but fixable problem and get your health back on track
